Al Hakim is a documentary series that follows leading Arab surgeons inside the operating room. Each episode profiles one doctor performing one high-risk surgery on a patient whose case has run out of easier options. We sit with the surgeon before, during, and after the procedure — tracing the life that led them to this work, the discipline that keeps them at it, and the thinking that happens in the moments when a single decision changes a life. The title means The Wise One. The series asks what wisdom looks like with a scalpel in hand. Currently in post-production.
